Military Career of Harro Wooge. KG 27

Hello I'm George and a friend recommended me this Forum. My pleasure.

I'd like to know the military career of Harro Wooge and get some pic from him if It's possible. I have this info from him:

Leutnant Wooge was a pilot in 3/Kampfgeschwader 27 ¨Geschwader Boelcke. KG 27 flew Heinkel 111 bombers. The squadron was involed in the Battle of Britain and the Invasion of Russia in 1941. During this time, Lt. Wooge earned the Iron Cross 2nd and 1st Class. On April 13, 1942 Lt. Wooge was awarded the Ehrenpokal ( Goblet of Honor for Distinguished Achievements in DKiG(German Cross in Gold) on September 24, 1942. On May 1, 1944 Oberleutnant Wooge was appointed Adjutant of I/KG 27 and held that position until December 20, 1944. In November of 1944, KG 27 was reorganized as a fighter unit and renamed KG ( J ) 27. It is not known if Wooge stayed with KG 27 or was transferred. Wooge was also promoted to Hauptmann either in 1944 or 45.

If I'm correct KG 27 was involved in the bombarding of Stalingrad.

Thanks in advance, George

Thank you very much for the info Chris.
If I understand correctly Wooge's plane was a Heinkel 111 H-6 with the Kennzeichen 1G+FL and following missions:
-05.07.42
-31.08.42
-12.09.42 ( Possibly over Stalingrad )
-24.09.42 ( Possibly over Stalingrad )

There is no details on these missions? Or a picture from this officer?

If you are interested in the wartime history of KG 27 and the career of Harro Wooge, you might want to try and obtain this 6 or 7 volume history of this Geschwader. It contains details on every mission flown day-by-day, often with the names of the crews, plus thousands of photos. Some of the photos will undoubtedly include shots of Sühren.

Yes, I'm interested in all related to Wooge. I'd like to know his complete military career and know what he did on the Battle of Stalingrad if It's possible. I will check these books. Find an individual picture of Wooge will be a challenge! You recommend books number 6 or 7. Why these ones? Thanks!

Wonderful information Chris, thanks again.

Hans Reiff was the usual BO from the Heinkel 111 H-6 that Wooge piloted 1G+FL. It would be interesting to find the Flugbuch from Reiff.

Thanks Larry, seeing this list I may be interested in the Band IV and V covering the 2nd year of the German attack on Caucasus / Stalingrad at the moment.

Larry

Just out of curiosity, what does Band I cover?
Band II to VII looks like they cover the whole period.

I decided not to buy this series. I simply have no space for it....

Cheers
Stig
