22-23 July 1941, details sought on Stirling damaged in intruder attack at Oakington?
Dear all,
On the night of 22-23 July 1941, a I./NJG2 intruder damaged a Stirling at Oakington, who has any details on the serial of the Stirling and the extent of the damage? And was the 'heavy' damaged in a bombing or a strafing attack? Thanks for any details, Theo

7 Sqn ORb for 23.07.41 AM
A few small bombs 8 were dropped in the early hours of the morning near the Squadron offices. One other rank of the Ground Defence was killed and slight damage done to Stirling T. N6032 by bomb splinters. This aircraft was already Cat A/C on account of damage by "Flak" and E/A fire. The other rank was possibly AC2 E.A. Fidell Regards Martin
