Re: Ju88 A-4 W. Nr. 8721 V4+VR - lost over Russia - any further info?

Hey guys,

100% that the W. Nr. is 8721, as they main data plate was found with it.

I always get confused on the tail codes, vs. Stkz.

The tail photo showed "ER", so I just assumed a typo occurred, when I wrote "VR"...

8721 is the correct plane...so the Stkz must be V4+VR...and the tail code another number ending in "ER"

?

Hi all,

Ju 88 Wnr. 2555 V4 + ER

Gerhard Baeker in his book "Kampfgeschwader 1 Hindenburg gives the Crew as POW. Hirrle died in Russia, the three others came back after six years.
Baeker gives the name of tb BO as Blessex ??

The issue is that the W.Nr. is 8721...not 2555.

Gentlemen,

Gerhard Baeker in his book Kampfgeschwader 1 "Hindenburg" noticed.
The Crew got POW's. Hirrle dies in war captivity, the other three came back after 6 years.
