Ofw Josef Wurmheller 1./JG 2 19 Aug 42

According to a report by Luftflotte 3 dated 20 Aug 42 2315 hrs, between 1852 and 1912 hrs, 15 Fw 190s of I./JG 2 fought with 100-120 Spitfires (!) 40-80 km NW Le Havre. Wurmheller claimed a Spitfire 1902 hrs 70- km N Le Havre (59th kill) which burst into flames and hit the sea. As second Spitfire was probably shot down at 1904 hrs 85 km NNW of Le Havre. It is then stated that Wurmheller's kill is believed to have collided with another Spitfire and the 2 of them crashed. Problem is Jochen has this as being 20 Aug 42 but I cannot see that JG 2 would have got their report in to Luftflotte 3 and then sent to Berlin in the space of 3 hours-such reports are usually 12-24 hours afterwards. Any comments? Next question is who do we think Wurmheller thinks he got!
