Do. 217 U5+DP attacked 6/7 Sept 1942
Plt Off Ronald Ferguson of 410 Sqn identified and attacked a Junkers on 6 / 7 September 1942 but I see there is some speculation that he may have wrongly ID the aircraft and was actually engaging Dornier U5+DP of 6./KG2 based at Eindhoven, Holland. Could anyone confirm this ?

Re: Do. 217 U5+DP attacked 6/7 Sept 1942
What was the location of the attack according to the night fighter pilot?
According to the 6./KG 2 crew they were attacked by a night fighter 30 km west of Sunderland in England. Kind regards, Timon |

Re: Do. 217 U5+DP attacked 6/7 Sept 1942
Ferguson was credited with a damaged Ju 88 2335 24 miles NE of Whitby. A 25 Sqn ac also claimed a He 111 damaged. All I can see is this Do 217 being damaged west of Sunderland with a killed crew member
