need markings for 1st casualty Pacific War

Hi. Would anyone have any pics or profile of the PBY2 Catalina W8417 FV-W, which I think was the first Allied casualty in the Pacific War?
Thanks

Re: need markings for 1st casualty Pacific War

Corgi released a model of the following:
Consolidated Catalina MkIB - Z2144, FV-R, 205 Squadron, RAF, Seletar, Singapore, Sept. 1941

which they claim as historically accurate so may be of some use to you.

Images here:

This page: http://www.rafseletar.info/Aircraft/...0Catalina.html has a couple of pictures of 205 Catalinas at Seletar in 1941 but none of the aircraft you're looking for. The second picture in the hanger seems to confirm the application of the squadron codes and individual aircraft code letters to the tail though (FVT on the Catalina in the foreground) as shown on the Corgi model.
