Wellesley 20.05.40

Hi everyone,
on 20.05.40 the German fighters claimed 2 Wellesley shot down (at 18`35 Peronne and 19`15 Compiegne). I wonder if somebody could provide me with some further details (units, serials, crews)?

Regards

Robert

Robert,

Is it possible the claims are mis-identified.

Luftwaffe also claim a Fairy Battle on this day, both are single engined light bombers (But I fail to see any other similiarities)

Hopefully someone else has a better answer.

Hello

20 May afternoon, 4 Vought V.156F out of 9 from Escadrille AB1 were shot down by Bf 109 between Péronne & St Quentin while they were going to bomb Origny-Sainte Benoîte. A fith V.156F, lonely, was shot down on the return flight to the north of Compiègne, in Gury (Oise).

Sorry, I can't help any more than Laurent Rizzotti

About the Voughts, I specify that I'm not sure if these aircrafts are the claimed Wellesley even if the places seem to correspond, and this relatively unknown plane can be taken for a Wellesley.

Re: Wellesley 20.05.40

OK.

Thanks.
I think that the Voughts were first attacked by I/JG2 and on return by Moelders from III/JG53.

Regards

Robert
