Bay of Biscay patrol 18.8.1942
Hi all,
I would like to ask if anyone can help me with additional information for this date. I have already some basic information available on the internet and details from Bloody Biscay by Chris Goss. The further details I am looking for are: 1) JG2 was escorting AR 196 from 5./B.F.Gr. 196 on this day. Any details about this patrol, like time, area, number of planes? 2) any ifnormation about Obfw. Friedrich Jost from 5./B.F.Gr. 196 much appreciated, including details about his flight on this day 3) Oblt. Bruno Stolle claimed a RAF Coastal Command Wellington on escort.I have full detials about the RAF plane but I am interested in the details from German side like time of take off, the base, etc. Also the location of victory will be great as I was unable to find any reference is Tony Wood list for example. Many thanks in advance for any help. Pavel

Re: Bay of Biscay patrol 18.8.1942
Chris - many thanks - it is the first confirmation that such a man exist!
Laurent - also many thanks - but this info creates another questions... according to the 311 Sq ORB the last message was received from the Wellington at 12.34. The British time was at this day one hour in advance (if I checked it correctly) so it was 11.34 of German time... I believe that the Wellington was shot down immediately and crashed as Chris mentioned by the reminiscencess of Stolle in his Bloody Biscay book. So something does not fits here

Re: Bay of Biscay patrol 18.8.1942
Not sure if you are correct. At this time, UK was on BST (GMT+1). Germans were on GST (GMT+2). Therefore 1234 UK=1334 German?
