Two Do 17 bombers with "Z5" unit`s code
Hi,
there are two photos showing two various Do 17 bombers, which crash-landed in France or Belgium during May-June 1940. Both were marked with "Z5" unit`s code. I wonder if somebody has more details about unit using "Z5" code? Regards Robert |

Re: Two Do 17 bombers with "Z5" unit`s code
Hi, Robert...
Barry Rosch's Luftwaffe Codes, Markings & Units, 1939-45 (Schiffer) states that 'Z5' was possibly an Aufklärungs Staffel, but does not provide information about which one. The example he mentions was a Dornier Do17P-1. Regards... Paul |

Re: Two Do 17 bombers with "Z5" unit`s code
I have a Fi 156 Z5+GH dated March 1941 with Erg.Aufkl.Gr.Ob.d.L in Döberitz. That does not mean that the Do 17 belonged to this unit. Is the code ending Z5+_H with an H? I have another Do 17 with code Z5+BH. If yes it would certainly improove the probability.
