Uffz. Helmut Gabert, KIA 22.03.1945

Gentlemen,

recently I came across an Uffz. Helmut Gabert, killed on or around 22.03.1945 in the area NW of Wiesbaden.

Gaberts "last known unit" is given with II./JG 2, so he may have been killed on 22.03.1945 in aerial combat with 353.FS.

Is there any information about his loss or confirmation about his membership in JG 2 available?

Regards,

Heuser

Thank you very much lilsis,

this fits to my informations. It would be intersting to know if his skull fracture was a result of a crash with a D-9...

Gents,

Thank you for this information - it is the first time I come across the name of Uffz. Gabert.

You may wish to know that there is a further JG 2 pilot buried at Idstein, i.e. Fw. Hermann Hofmeister, 1./JG 2, KIA 24 Feb 45 in Fw 190D-9, W.Nr. 210136; ref. http://www.kriegsgraeberstaette-idst...er-hermann.htm

Regards,

Marc
