B-25 - 477th BG - TUIOI

I refer to the picture of a B-25 at near bottom of article in this link: https://blog.history.in.gov/tag/world-war-ii/

B-25 bears the letters "TUIOI". Nickname or unit abbreviation?

B-25 was part of the 477th BG, a training unit at Tuskegee Army Airfield when picture was taken (March 1945).

Thanks for info.

Regards,
Leendert

Re: B-25 - 477th BG - TUIOI

It appears to read TU101 or Training Unit 101.

Ed,

Indeed. Will see if there was such a (sub)unit at Tuskegee, or perhaps a squadron code.

TU was the Fuselage Code for aircraft based at Tuskegee Army Air Field.
