1/ZG2 Loss, 25.08.1940, NVM?

I am looking for a copy, if there is one, of the NVM for the loss of 3M+CH, the crew were Lt Karl Westphal and Uffz Josef Brief, any help would be great.
Thanks
Joe

Surely 3M+CH? I have a letter from WASt about their loss (pre-dates when they supplied NVMs)

All it gives are names, DoB, place of birth, unit, date of death and that they were killed. No EKM I am afraid. Will send it if you want but details are exactly the same as the VDK site

Re: 1/ZG2 Loss, 25.08.1940, NVM?

Thanks Chris,
I had always wrongly assumed the unknown that is buried with Westphal in Block 9, grave 17 at Cannock was Brief, but not so, he is buried in Block 7 grave 130, the VDK fail to see the connection between the two, so I need to enlighten them, hence the need for documented proof, also where did the unknown with Westphal come from?

The unknown buried in Block 9, grave 17 was also apparently removed from Winfrith Newburgh Church Cemetery. Date of death is the same as Westphal.

Both Brief and Westphal are listed on the register of burials at Winfrith Newburgh here: http://www.opcdorset.org/WinfrithNew...s1933-1992.htm

Interestingly Brief is also marked as 'Unknown' so perhaps the confusion came from there?
