B-24 acceptance and delivery questions

Hi!

Is there any way to find documents that shows acceptance, deliveries aircraft regarding B-24 Liberators.
I know they Where produced on five places and modification done on several other places before going overseas.

And i also wonder if there is document that shows when the plane was started to being build and finished, regarding production at factory?

Regards
Johan

The Aircraft Record Cards are like that. You can order them from AAIR.
The 454 BG website eg. show them downloadable:

(I obtained them for certain A-20s, P-38s, etc. as well from AAIR)

Re: B-24 acceptance and delivery questions

Johan

You have basically three/four dates on all the record cards.
My interpretation of these dates are
Acceptance date: Date when someone from the AAF has made a physical examination of the aircraft in question (don't know if it also included a checkflight)
Available date: Date when the manufacturer advise the AAF that the aircraft is ready
Delivery date: When aircraft is physically delivered into the hands of the AAF.
After that you usually find a departure date, which is when the aircraft is flown away. Often the same date as delivery date, but weather, crew problems and so on could delay the actual physical departure.

Cheers
Stig
