Re: Me109G6 Wnr 19634 "White 8"
Dear Michel,
Here is what I have for this airframe: Bf 109 G-6 W.Nr. 19634 is a Wiener Neustadt Flugwerke (WNF) built machine. There is contradictory information regarding its demise as I have it destroyed 100% during a Luftkampf, 28 July 1943, whilst being flown by Uffz. Helmut Apenburg as ""Weisse 8", 1./JG 3, no known location. Source is: 1. Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #11)-Vol.19; 2. Prien, et al, Die Jagdfliegerverbände, Vol X.2, p.250; 3. Prien/Stemmer, Stab und I./JG 3, p.528. Oddly enough, i have this very same W.Nr. 19634 again active by 7 October 1943, as "Blaue 2", 12./JG 26 and damaged 35% due to a crash landing at Fl. Pl. Moorsele. Source is Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #11)-Vol.22. Maybe the second occurrence is a typo in the W.Nr. ? All available informations are courtesy of George Morrison. Cheers Marc |

Re: Me109G6 Wnr 19634 "White 8"
Hello Marc,
in JFV Vol. 10/III page 141 is listed: 07.10.43 12./JG 26 N.N. Bruchlandung, Moorsele, 35% Bf 109 G-4 19364. Regards Leo |

19364 was accidented, 50%., 4 July 1943 while in 12/JG54. Looks like there is a "double bug" here. I don't know how Prien & All were able to correct like that (I didn't say they are wrong). .... For sure, I don't know where Marc got this "Blaue 2" no indication of it in Georg list neither in Michael list. Regards, Franck. |

Re: Me109G6 Wnr 19634 "White 8"
Hello Franck,
with effect from 1 July 1943 the 12./JG 54 was integrated into the III./JG 26 and renamed 12./JG 26 (details in JFV Vol. 10/III page 104). In JFV Vol. 10/III page 138 is listed: 04.07.43 12./JG 26 N.N. Motorschaden, Notlandung, östlich Nordholz, 50% Bf 109 G-4 19364. So this aircraft of 12./JG 26 was damaged on 4 July 1943 (50%) and on 7 Oct 1943 (35%). Regards Leo |
