Hi Andy,
Chorley has it as the night of the 7th-8th, so maybe an earlier trip to Berlin would give a take off time . So would give a guide to an approximate take off time and return. So time over target could be found .
Maybe AIR 81/3673 would help ?
No records made for October it seems as the unit was in preparation for going overseas.

If my German is correct, then website http://www.luftkrieg-oberhavel.de/webs/raf/r017.htm
says that the Wellington was shot down by a Flak-unit: 4/514.
Have no experience with look-ups in German archives to see if anything can be traced there.

This Australian story has it that the Wellington had been attacked by a Messerschmitt...

German claim lists may provide an answer if and when Wellington was shot down by a fighter near Oranienburg.

Regards,
Leendert
