FAA operations in battle of Britain

I was just reading a book on the Fleet Air Arm (FAA). The author states that the FAA sent two Sea Hurricane squadrons and 58 fighter pilots to serve under RAF control. I knew about the FAA pilots but did not know about the FAA Sea Hurricane squadrons. Eleven FAA fighter pilots were killed in the battle and 4 were decorated.
Can someone elucidate? Maybe a listing of the eleven KIA FAA pilots?

Not sure where you got the information in the OP from but the two FAA squadrons, 804 and 808, were not flying Sea Hurricanes.

The information I quoted came from the book "The Disastrous Fall and Triumphant Rise of the Fleet Air Arm" by Henry Hank Adlam, who served as a FAA fighter pilot in WWII.

Re: FAA operations in battle of Britain

Sea Hurricanes only arrived on operational strength in 1941. The scored their first victory in the withdrawal from the Kirkenes/Petsamo raid in late July 1942. During the Battle of Britain most of the FAA fighter squadrons were flying Fulmars and Skuas (and Sea Gladiators) in the Mediterranean.

Re: FAA operations in battle of Britain

Sorry typo! The first victory was on 30 July 1941.
