Ju 88 D-1 without MG 81 in A-Stand —> common?

Hello,

I noticed that several Ju 88 D-1 didn’t have an MG 81 in the A-Stand, but some did. The windshield did not have the hole in these cases. So it was not that the MG 81 was deinstalled.

Was that a common feature already implemented at the factory to reduce weight for long range recon missions? I also noticed that the MG 81 was missing when also the Bola was notinstalled, most likely to reduce drag and weight for long range missions.

Cheers
Roger
