Looking in Chorley's RAF Bomber Command losses 1945 he indicates the aircraft was abandoned by its crew, that is all seven bailed out.

In his crew list there is no Sgt Cumers while Langley and Benton are spelled Longley and Banton
In his Vol 9 (Roll of Honour) there is no Cumers at all for 1945.

He doesn't use A-89 as a reference (but others do) but place the crash at Nethen (Brabant) some 10km SSW from the centre of Leuven.

Stig,

Nethen is just 8km due west of A-89 Le Culot/Beauvechain. Place of bailing out by crew near A-89 was followed by crash of Lancaster farther down the road, I reckon.

More details on Rafcommands.

Regards,
Leendert

No sign of a Sgt. Cumers on 6 Jan 45 for LM187 in ORB 218 squadron either...

If an airman with that name also came down, then we look at another bail out.

Regards,
Leendert
