IV./JG27 September 1943
Hi guys
Reviewing the information I have collated regarding the activities of IV/JG27 during its brief assault against the island of Kos in September 1943, I still require clarification on some points. Hopefully some of our experts will be able to help, please. When IV./JG27 was formed in May 1943 it was based at Kalamaki, Greece, under the command of Hptm Rudolf Sinner, who was posted away in July. Oblt Dietrich Bosler became Acting Gruppenkdr. For operations over Kos, did the two staffeln (10 and 11) move to another airfield? Who were the Staffelkapitans? III/JG27 reinforced IV/JG27 for the final operations against Kos. Again, from which airfield did it operate? Who were the Staffelkapitans? Help appreciated. Cheers Brian |
