Loss of Hptm. Hennings, 10./KG 4, 28-April-1942 over the Channel
Hi friends !
"He111H-5, WNr. 4034, 5J+MU, 10./KG 4, 28-april-1942, 100% Feindflug. HENNINGS, Hptm. Eberhard, Staffelkapitän. MIA with crew. Cause unknown, Kanal (Gen.Qu.6.Abt. (mfm #5)-Vol. 8). " Searching for more details, can anyone help me, please? Name of the crew, mission started in... (Avord/France ?), was that a mission by night etc. EBERHARD HENNINGS was posthumously awarded with the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross (14-5-42) |

There was an attack on York on the night of 28/29-4-42. A Beaufighter crew of 68 Sqd. chased a He 111 for 50 miles and claimed it as probaly destroyed off the Dutch coast in the early hours of the 29th.
