RAF as far as I could find used -
"01"; "03"; "05"; "08"; "09". Also "20". So very possibly "02". US, 9 AAF used at least - "07" and "08". So possibly "04"; "06" still to come to light . |

Some OTUs used numbers for individual ID in addition to unit codes eg.
57OTU (JZ) Spitfire JZ-22 58OTU (P9) Spitfire P9-23 59OTU (MF) Hurricane MF-14 14OTU (VB) Anson VB-02 Several OTUs had more than one unit code at the same time, even 3 or 4. Nick |
