Re: Soviet pilot and event ID
IL-2: 17 VA, 136 ShAD, 715 ShAP in Hungary in December, 1944 - January, 1945.
My guess from L to R (based on their military ID photo I have): - ? - ? - Shamanov (+21.01.1945., IL-2 No.'24', S/N: 10167, or 11811, or 10544) - Fioletov (+18.01.1945., IL-2 No.'28', S/N: 11947) - Semenov (+22.01.1945., IL-2 No.'25', S/N: 10167, or 11811, or 10544) - ? - Moskvichev (+04.01.1945., IL-2 No.'21', S/N: 11536) - ? - Parshin gunner (+19.01.1945., IL-2 No.'4', S/N: 1887803) - Tazetdinov (+14.01.1945., IL-2 No.'8', S/N: 10465) - ? - Petrosyan (+18.01.1945., IL-2 No.'2', S/N: 11222, or 12047) - ? - ? Definitely before January 04, 1945, since Moskvichev was KIA by then... Gabor |

Re: Soviet pilot and event ID
Alex,
When I say I "research" the VVS over Hungary, I really mean it ;-))))) We, and our Museum have our own connections to Russian Archives too and had a few AC recovery projects with the Russian partners in the past. Believe me, we have unbelievable stuff... But I do not understand your question. Confirm regiment number and aircraft type???? Your group-photo shows 715 ShAP pilots with 715 ShAP IL-2s in the background in Hungary during the winter of 1944-45, before January 4. 715 ShAP had the markings of painted spinners (in squadron specific color), plus a long and a short white, diagonal tail stripe. All visible here. Petrosyan was lost in a dogfight with Hungarian fighters on January 18, 1945 in IL-2 #2 between Berhida and Székesfehérvár. Petrosyan previously flew Po-2s too in the 17 VA, 262 NBAD, 97 GvNBAP, - that's in his ID stamp. Many 715 ShAP IL-2s carried the inscription of "Черниговский Комсомолец" on their fuselage, see attached color graphic. Petrosyan's lost crew: гв.мл.л-т Петросян Эдуард Петрович pilot (№19907, MIA) Малинчук gunner (+) But to prove, that I already had your photo, I attach a detail, in which even the face of the far right guy is partially visible, which was not seen in yours. Cheers, Gabor Last edited by HGabor; 9th June 2018 at 05:03. |

Re: Soviet pilot and event ID
Here is the military photo ID of Ml.Lt. Evgenii Ivanovich Semenov (17 VA, 136 ShAD, 715 ShAP). See 136 ShAD stamp in his photo. He is the 5th in the group-photo from the left. His lost crew on January 21, 1945 in his IL-2 No.'25' was:
мл.л-т Семенов Евгений Иванович pilot (№19893, +) ст.с-т Иванов Федор Кириллович gunner (+) They crashed near their airfield of Tököl, Hungary. Gabor Last edited by HGabor; 9th June 2018 at 05:03. |

Re: Soviet pilot and event ID
Gabor
Thanks for your feedback but I guess we runned into a confussion. My Q was regarding the 2nd photo of my post which depicts a LA type acft with Suvorov Order noseart on the fuselage and not regarding the IL-2's which I highly appreciate your answer, As into 715 ScHAP this Regiment remarkably had only 3 losses during 2nd Iasi Chisinau Offensive and before leaving to Bulgaria . Most of the pilots IDed by you were already Krimean and Iasi campaigns Thanks again Alex K |

Re: Soviet pilot and event ID
Hi Alex,
17 VA, 136 ShAD, 715 ShAP lost 2 IL-2s on August 20, '44 (ст.л-т Алентьев, р-й Девякович) and another plane on August 21, 1944. (мл.л-т Демченко Александр Иванович's IL-2) 17 VA, 136 ShAD, 210 ShAP also lost an IL-2 (No.'29') with the мл.л-т Львов Виктор Ильич crew onboard on August 21, 1944. 17 VA, 136 ShAD, 989 ShAP also lost an IL-2 on the 21st: мл.л-т Куценко Николай Иванович's plane. Do you have any idea about their crash sites and plane numbers? Thanks, Gabor |
