GILLES

Guess we do have a match here:
https://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/fl-...barometer-1940

By the way this is a FANTASTIC site and we (members here) must give full credit to its owner...

Since the WEKUSTA 2 was active on Weather Recon...probably the WX man on board did have his own Barometer !?!?!?!?

I do agree with Snautzer...not a scale for LW altimeters (meters/Km) as shown here:
https://www.deutscheluftwaffe.de/hoehenmesser

Cheerio

Re: An He177 equipment part to identify, please

It is a scale of barometric pressure adjustment, which was part of any altimeter. When adjusted to the local pressure at the airfield the altimeter will show altitude from the airfield level. When adjusted to 1013,25 mb the altimeter will show so called standard altitude, which is used for separating higher flying aircraft safely from each others (every aircraft uses altitude indication based on the same reference level).
Same procedure is used still today with all aircraft flying in controlled airspace.
