Fw190 D-9 left side

Hi all,

yesterday I get a left cockpit side of a Fw190 D-9 / Ta 152 from a local farmer in my home area here in Germany.
It was never assembeld on a plane and produced at the last weeks of WW2.
Sorry, it is not for sale.

Best wishes

Rüdiger

Re: Fw190 D-9 left side

Guten Tag Herr Kaufmann,

Christian Greese

That big circular hole in the sheet metal...

Does the hole in the sheet metal correspond to a hole meant for the blower air intake? And, by "the left side" of the aircraft, you mean the aircraft's left side, correct?

Everyone knows where I'm going with this: if that big hole was meant to be the blower air intake hole and that hole is on the left side of the aircraft, that means we have a part from a Ta-152 C. And that would be an incredibly RARE piece of sheet metal.

I hope the experts on the forum will look into this and give us the benefit of their knowledge.

Re: Fw190 D-9 left side

In all of the D9 or Ta152 images/drawings I have seen, the hole I assume you are referring to would be for the supercharger, and that is always part of the engine cowling panel. That said, I have an image of a similar access panel from the NASM Ta152, but I cannot reference where it is on the aircraft. I also attached some images of the left side of the NASM Ta152.

Re: Fw190 D-9 left side

Am I confused or missing something?

Is the OP showing pics of the LH side of the fuselage or the LH side of the cowling? If it is the LH fuselage panel, what is all the talk about TA-152C? The hole for the supercharger would be on the left hand cowling.

This link shows the TA-152 sides in nice detail.

The right side in hi-res.
