Re: Place of a Buhlingen claim (Leek-Leeks)
Hello Michel,
according to JFV 10/IV he claimed a B-17 13.45 hrs at Sneek. In the Verliesregister 1943 is listed the loss of the B-17 F 42-29971 13.45 hrs at Beek/Limburg (Bourgognestraat), 12 km north-north-east of Maastricht. Just as the German casualty no. KU 299 in MACR 819. In the Namentliche Verlustmeldung AV 390/43 is noted the crash of this plane "13.45 Uhr bei Beek (Prov. Limburg in Holland)". Regards Leo |

Re: Place of a Buhlingen claim (Leek-Leeks)
Hello Leo
Indeed, according T.Wood,it's also Sneek but that is not possible. -Why the II/JG2 would operate so high up in Holland? -No B-17 crashed in the region of Sneek/Leek In my opinion both (Leeks/Beek) seem possible, the problem is that Buhlingen's claims are dubious. michel |
