Auerbach, Germany

Hello folks.
I was wondering if there was a small town in Germany somewhere no more than 30 Miles from Oschersleben called Auerbach. I know there is a town called Auerbach 15 miles south west of Zwickau, but there may have been another town called Auerbach somewhere else in Germany during WWII. After WWII many towns and roads were renamed for various reasons. This is most prominent in East Germany but this area"Oschesleben" was west Germany. If anyone knows of the existence of another town called Auersbach in that area I appreciate the help.
Cheers!

Re: Auerbach, Germany

There are four towns in Germany called Auerbach, two in Sachsen and two in Bayern. There are also twelve districts of other towns and cities with the name. Can't find any near Oschersleben, Auerbach/Vogtland is over 180 miles away.

If you look on the Auerbach Wikipedia page and click on the German language version it has a longer list than the English page but a few of them are in Austria.

Re: Auerbach, Germany

Hello Mark VIII,
there is a windmill at Wolmirstedt (north and near Magdeburg) called "Auerbachs Mühle"(Auerbach's windmill), build on a farmers ground with the name Auerbach in 1842.
The distance from Oschersleben to Wolmirstedt is around 50km /30miles).
Possibly this is the place you are looking for??? (and why?)
