Re: French DB-7 losses 1940 Campaign

BERTRAND,

It "looks like" (ça ressemble beaucoup) we do have the same photo indeed, but from another angle. I do not distinguish the numero 10 on the fuselage. Can you point me where we can see this number on your photo?

The crash seems to be the same indeed. The right engine who "blew away from its mount" do corroborate (perhaps, if this is Nº10 indeed) with the (difficult) landing with just one main landing gear operating (possible loss of hidraulic system due to damage). Thank you for pointing me the total hours flown by the crew on this mission. Do you happen to know what happened to Capitaine Couilleau?

MY GRATITUDE for your kind contribution and nice photograph (other angle) of the (apparenly) same machine.

Adriano

Re: French DB-7 losses 1940 Campaign

Hi Adriano,

Why not the n°10 why not the n°43 ? One of the two could be one of the two losses on 13 june 1940 on the photo. It depends how is the a/c between "shot down" and "force landed" according post #4

Neither planes fly after June 13.

The crews are except on n° 10. Couilleau flies on 15 June 1940 on n° 18 to go to Agen.

I don't know the fate of the crew on n°43 and who was on board. This n°43 have been arrived at the 2ème escadrille on 11 May 1940 and I have no information after 29 May 1940.

Bertrand
