Just to add a bit on the crash of PD276, which we said “The aircraft crashed in a field near a convent called Haus Schur, and the wreckage was not discovered by the nuns until the next morning.”

This is the convent (scroll down on the link):

It is located at 51.395445, 6.955550 in Schuir (not "Schur" ).

You can zoom down on the google maps location and pick out some of the details of the white buildings. The area is still mostly fields around it today. The nuns moved out in 2016 and today the buildings house some 500 refugees.

Re the Lancaster PD 276 crash site. A google search finds some details on "Haus Schuir", located just to the SE of Mulheim- Essen airport.
