Trying to ID 109 in background of photo of captured Spitfire X4260 of 603 SQ

Hello,

On Sept. 6, 1940, Spitire X4260, XToD, of 603 SQ was damaged in combat with Hptm von Bonin of Stab I./JG54 over the Channel and made a wheels down force landing in France, where P.O.J.R. Caister was made PoW. There is photo in the French ECPA collection showing this a/c from the starboard side, with a Luftwaffe pilot with the top of his head swathed in bandages, standing on the wing and looking into the cockpit. I presume that he was injured during combat. Has anyone IDed this pilot? In the background over the top of the wing is Bf109E with the upper part of the fin visible, which carries 5 victory tabs. I'm also trying to ID that a/c. Does anyone know where that Spitfire came down and what unit might be represented by the a/c in the background? I think that this will be a well-known photo with which some of you will be well familiar.

Who can help me?

Thanx,

Larry Hickey

The late Michael Payne did quite a bit of research into this loss and I know he had quite a number of photos. I am about to be busy/away until week wednesday so if you want to contact me then.....

Larry,

Ex old auctions on this picture given Guines as caption. Like Hptm von Bonin of Stab I./JG54 claimed this a/c, Guines or Campagne-lès-Guines, Hermelinghen could have been the airfield where Caistor did this landing.

In Tony Woods list it has the following date for Hurbertus von Bonin's claims.
05 Sep 1940 16:25 Spitfire
05 Sep 1940 16:30 Spitfire E. Southend: 800-1000 m.

in "Royal Air Force Fighter Command Losses of the Second World War volume 1" by Norman Franks it has Caister's date of being shot down as the 06 Sep 1940 at 13:30. Which is the correct date and what about the time difference?
