06th July 1944 Bf 109 losses (JG 27)

Good morning to all.

I would like to obtain more details about JG 27 activities that particular day over the Normandy Front.

I am aware of 2 losses and would be pleased do know the strenght of aircraft involved, how many missions were flown and if there are other known recorded losses, please.

It seems that either Oblt Bauer and Lt. Breunig were involved with 56th F.G. near Beaumont.

Any more details are most welcomed.
Thanks
Adriano

Adriano:

Have you looked at Dr. Prien's history of JG 27, or Frappe's "Luftwaffe in Normandy" volume? Both are in diary format and should give you answers.

Hello John,

I do have the whole serie of JG 53 (in English), but unfortunately not the JG 27 serie of PRIEN.
Do have the "La Luftwaffe in Normandy", yes but an old small (96 pages) version from Heimdal Editions. The sumaries on this last book are really short and not comprehensive, though (like the 2nd TAF by Shores and Thomas).
But, I do thank you very much for the tips. It do not know if the JG27 serie will be ever printed in English version too. He has done quite an amazing work. By the way, I do have some of your Works too.
Yours, most sincerely,
Adriano
