Re: Mosquito Mk.VI 'UP-B' and 'UP-T'

Is there a particular period you are researching, as with losses there may have been several aircraft with B and T as the individual code?

Hi Larry!

I am interested in 10th - 12th October 1944 period when this aeroplanes were in 605. squadron.

This aeroplane might have been lost in March 1945.

I place my bet on PZ343 (UP-B, lost on 17. March 1945.), that might be the one I look for.

Anyone can help me to see loss report? If this is the same plane, it was damaged on 11. October 1944. Could this damage report be found?

Re: Mosquito Mk.VI 'UP-B' and 'UP-T'

Dear Marko,

PZ343 has UP-B stated as its code according to the book RAF Fighter Command Losses of Second World War-1945, by Norman Franks.

The crew members were W/C RA Mitchell DFC and F/Lt H Hatsell DFC and both were killed ion a night intruder mission over Germany.

I guess the loss report is in The National Archives (TNA) in Kew, London.

I have not seen any photos of it (yet)!

Larry
