Looking for crashsite 2nd attempt
Hi ALL,
today 78 years ago, 2nd LT. Harvey Pansch started for a reconn. tour to Munich. On his flight back he crashed somewhere between Innsbruck and Trento-Rovereto. Actually is was not possible to identify ever his crashsite and he did not know it too.. His last known coordin. do not give a crashsite for a F-5E. One single hint by Pansch is, that he saw his plane crashing into a mountain, causing there an avalanche. He landed save and met a group of „Italian??“ speaking workers. Very soon he was escorted as a POW to Moosburg Bavaria. We only have this data: 26-3-45, last known pos.: 47 10 E, 11 25 N, MACR 13370,, time: 12 10. How long did it take him to reach Munich starting in San Severo?? Simple question. Where did he come down, crashite must be close to him ? We need F-5 debris and a memorized day exactly or close to 26-3-1945. Thx for your contributions. dnalor |

Re: Looking for crashsite 2nd attempt
The date is correct.
The tail code was 44-24486. He was with the 5th PRG and 32nd PRS. Last edited by edwest2; 26th March 2023 at 21:20. |
