Fieseler Storch 2 Sept 44 Oirschot

On the 2nd Sept 1944, around 15.00 am a Fieseler Storch made a emergency landing in just outside the village Oirschot on a piece of farmland.

Any idea about werkenummer, pilot etc??

Regards,
Adrian

Re: Fieseler Storch 2 Sept 44 Oirschot

Just to add for our readers that Oirschot is a few kms. NW of Eindhoven, Netherlands.

Hello,

What is the source for the assumption that this Fi-156 made an emergency landing? Was it left behind? Especially a Storch could land nearly everywhere for a special reason, unknown to me.

Just trying to prevent a premature conclusion, best regards

Marcel

Re: Fieseler Storch 2 Sept 44 Oirschot

Source appears to be from a diary: https://tweedewereldoorloginoirschot...eseler-storch/

It says it stood 'op 'n tip' (nose? wing?) at the edge of a farm field and was picked up later. Not in SGLO database, so perhaps seen as a 'non-event' or just unknown.

Groet,
Leendert

Hello Marcel,

A friend retrieved a notebook from a citizen from Oirschot. In that notebook he wrote all what happened in his village and around. That day Saturday 2nd September 1944 he made a note that a one engined recon plane made an emergency landing in a meadow. It ran almost in a small wooded area. He thought it was an Henschel 126 but later he remembered that this was a Fieseler Storch. Sadly this is what he wrote in his notebook.
