In Luftwaffe Im Focus, Edition No. 6 from Start-Verlag (http://www.luftfahrtverlag-start.de/), there is an article on Kg 100 during January 1944.
The article describes the Hs 293 glide bomb as a controlled SC 500 armor-piercing bomb. On the mission of 22 january 1944, the HMS Spartan was sunk by Hs 293. I realize this is not exactlyu on point, but it may be of interest.

greihl 217 book
Hi
found answer in griehls 217 book ' between 9th & 30 september , three daylight and six night raids were carried out by 28 dorniers of KG100, the most succesful raid took place on 13 september when hits scored on the cruiser savannah, and on hms uganda, two allied destroyers were also damaged , the hospital ship newfoundland, was also inadvertently hit and sank with a great loss of life, the price of this action was the loss of four experienced crews from II/KG100, together with two DO-217E-5's and two DO-217 K-2's ' cheers Jerry |
