Air Sea Rescue of American bomber crew, May 22nd 1943.

Hi all.

On the above date No.218 Squadron was tasked with an A/S/R flight, one crew picked up an S.O.S and located fluorescent colouring in the sea. But due to low cloud , less than 500ft the dinghy containing 9 Americans was not found. The squadron found out the following day that the American crew were located and brought ashore by a ASR Launch. Hoping someone could identify the American crew in question.?

TIA

Steve
