Hptm Gunther Capito

In Shore's "Fledgling Eagles" p237 Hptm Gunther Capito in mentioned as leading a flight of 12 Ju 52/3ms for the assault on Stavanger - 10/04/40.

Does anyone know which unit he served with at that time?

Re: Hptm Gunther Capito

According to 'Fledgling Eagles' by Christopher Shores, Capito was Staffelkapitän 7./KGzbV1.

Hope this helps, Mike

Re: Hptm Gunther Capito

Double Doh!! I realise now that I leapt to that conclusion myself because the text only refers to him leading the transport aircraft. A prime exmple of why I should never ASSUME.
