Hello ,

Ofw Edmann Johannes 8./JG26 Spitfire claimed a Spitfire 5-10 km north of Zeebrugge Belgium in sea on 29/04/1943.Who has some more info on the Spitfire ?

This should be on the Allied Board? It is assumed Edmann mistook a P-47 for a Spitfire (!). 3 claimed, two lost I believe

Both planes (P-47 and Spitfire) had elliptical wings so they could be mistaken for each other. Only three fighter aircraft of WWII had the Elliptical wing, the Spitfire, the P-47 and the He 280.
