Comments to Dornier Do 17. The Yugoslav story

3 X 07
This year was edited in Serbia the book (100% English), Dornier Do 17. The Yugoslav Story. Operational Record 1937-1947. Written by Boris Ciglić and Dragan Savić.

The book has 164 pages printed on glossy paper having more then 200 B&w photos. Most of them is printed first time. The book, In my opinion, has deeply covered this subject for the “next generation”. One could have, in the future, quite big problem to find or supply readers something new, fresh, unknown, (which is not included to this title). Such a big work has been by both authors. They have done as much as possible to find any kind information related about this particulate plane (exactly the particular version produced in Yugoslavia (1937-1941). Next they add as much information as they could find about use of Do 17 over Yugoslavia (1941-45: by German, Croat Air Forces) and also by Croat crews, who flown this type on Easter Front. They also had made short chapter (stories) about service of Do 17K (version produced in Yugoslavia) in Bulgarian, Italian services.
This is quite very large aviation military history, which have been done very informative and detailed by authors.
To the nice reproduced photos (some of them are quite large (1/2 A-4 size, very good quality), one can see many samples of colors used by Dorniers in “Yugoslavian service” (exactly: VVKJ, Luftwaffe, Hungarian, Croat, Bulgarian, Italian NOVJ, RAF). This is additional plus of this book

It is anyway great pity that the color drawing form the inside are not put on the frist cover of the book. The authors had very nice color cover and they had exchanged it for worse cover, which you may see on the next. In my opinion it was error. This color cover is inside in small size, when you will have this book you may see it (very nice indeed!).

Anyway the book is fundamental for all interested in Small Air Forces and value for money, J
