Questions about three Jagdgruppenpilots, killed in action
Here are three LW pilots from different "Jagdgruppen" which I've had problems of finding in Priens books (If they're there at all...?). All killed in action.
1. Biester, Alfred. Uffz, 4.Staffel, Jagdgruppe Ost. Died in an accident(?) 21.7.44 in Rennersdorf. 2. Hessenauer, Karl. Uffz, 1/Ergänzung-Jagdgruppe West. Died in an accident(?) 12.8.42, Mont de Marzan. 3. Otto, Werner. Uffz, 4.Staffel Jagdgruppe Süd Orange. Died in an accident(?) 6.5.44, 4 km east of Fliegerhorst Salon. Any further information will be welcome - thanks! Cheers Hans K |

Re: Questions about three Jagdgruppenpilots, killed in action
As these units are "operational training units" and in fact the last station before pilots came to the Jagdgeschwader, you will not find details of these losses in the Prien series.

They are not killed in action according to you rather killed in a training accident

Re: Questions about three Jagdgruppenpilots, killed in action
Thanks to all (and especially Matti - again...) for the quick replies!
As I wrote I didn't really expect them to be in the Prien-books, but you'll never know... And about the definition of "killed in action", yes I know that, but when I wrote my piece I didn't know that it was a training accident, hence the (?)... Cheers Hans K |
