Help with GQM Entry

The GQM returns for the 21-3-45 page 9 item 106 shows the loss of Ju52 7697 of II/TG2 on the 17-3-45 S/W of Breslau-Gandau. It is very hard to read the names of the crew(s) the best I can make out is Ff Ofw. Andreas Haskbauer, B Uffz Wilhelm Heusmeifer, Bf Fw Heinz Viertel, Bw Ogef Erich Schreiber, B Uffz Roman Schmidt, Bf Uffz Karl Kaupfle, Bw Fw Alfred Schagkal plus passenger Gen Kranz ? all killed. Is there a better copy of the report with clearer names please. On the same return it also shows the loss of Ju52 3270 of II/TG2 on the 15th with Ff Oblt Schmidte wounded at Breslau. Is there anything that could show if the last three aircrew from 7697 were the unwounded men from Oblt Schmidte's crew being returned ? Last question has anybody got more details on Gen. Kranz ? I found info. on Gen. Wolf-Dietrich Ritter v.Xylander lost in a crash of A He111 of 12/Fl.Verb.G2 on the 15-2-45, but had no luck with Kranz,

TIA

Re: Help with GQM Entry

Matti, Thanks very much for this information which soryts out he names and fates of the airmen on 7697.

Remi, I have checked the GQM list and the date for Oblt Schmidtke of II/TG3 being wounded/injured is 15-3-45 with the rest of his crew (no names) noted as uninjured (report dated 21-3-45). Another Ju52 641190 of II/TG3 was also written off at Breslau on the 15th with the whole crew safe. I just wondered if the extra B, Bf and Bw being carried by 7697 on the 17th. were the rest of Schmidte's crew being returned while their pilot was being treated in Breslau. I guess that it will just have to be considered a possibilty,

Thanks again to you both,

All the best
