JG 26 Pilots 1941

Can anyone identify any in this photo? 2nd from left is Bieber, next to Galland with back to camera is Pingel which would date this photo as pre-3 July 1941

Interesting. According to Caldwell Eickhoff did not take over 2 Staffel until 13 Jul after Bieber had been killed and Pingel captured so is Ulenberg and Rysavy in the photo? No Priller or Seifert from what I can see

Rysavy and Ulenberg are not in the photo (I know their faces well, I have several photographs of them).
I don't think the other men in the photograph are pilots. 1. from the left, maybe Oblt.Hösl -Kompaniechef

So possibly Hermann Hösl who later became Geschwader Adjutant? He appears to be a flier from his collar tabs

Yes, I mean Oblt. (Hptm.) HÖSL, who by 19.12.42 led the Stabskompanie I.Gruppe JG 26.
But it's only my opinion.

Re: JG 26 Pilots 1941

Hi Chris,

It seems like Galland is only wearing Oakleaves to his Knight’s Cross, which would date this photo before June 21th 1941, the date on which he received his Swords.

Regards, Thomas
