Luftwaffe attack on Lerwick, nov. 1939
Can anyone give more information about a Luftwaffe attack on the Shetlands in November 1939 as explained in this article:

Mention of KG 26 was made by the person who asked the original question (grandson of RAF aircrew member).
Couldn't find more detail in Achtung - Torpedo los! was hoping to find out a little bit more on the forum.

Searching under 'German bombers attack Lerwick' there was a site starting 'North Ness - Shetiopedia' which has a better photo and confirms Chris' date as 22nd. Nov.39

Hi, folks...
This intrigued me, so not being able to find anything in my references, I went on to Google.com and typed in a few words... not much information was forthcoming, except the undernoted, which was provided via postings by Binnacle and Lorenz on the Feldgrau.net website: 22 November, 1939, six Heinkel He111s attacking Lerwick harbour. They were from 2.Staffel/Kampfgeschwader 26 based at Westerland/Sylt, and succeeded in sinking a Saro London flying boat in the harbour, serial number L7042 of 201 Squadron. Never crossed my mind to check Fledgling Eagles, which makes sense in terms of early war action.
