Re: Info on found 109 F2 wreck and pilot.

I need to get my hands on those books but they are expensive and in German. Do they print them in English? Are these good examples?

So we might have found a picture of the Georg. What are the chances of getting a hold of his family to get these pieces back to them?

Re: Info on found 109 F2 wreck and pilot.

Would these be the same photos that are to be found ref Georg Mayr on page 57 in the book Die Geschichte der II Grupp des Jagdgeschwaders 52, by Bernd Barbas, reference the thread that i previously posted, or have you managed to find others?

Brad.

I was talking about the guy that mentioned a pic on your thread. I got by shipment of parts today. It is alot more than I thought. It is amazing to hold these parts and see the brush strokes in the paint. I will be posting detailed pictures of each part.

Cant wait to see, interesting to see if the paint matches the same as on my relics.

Have you come across the photo yet of Georg Mayr?

The book itself is quite pricey but it looks certain to cover Jg52 in great detail and will no doubt be worth the outlay.

Agreed. I am trying to source one. Worst case we can offer someone some money to scan their book for the trouble. I will get a good set of pics up soon. Looking forward to seeing your stuff.

That is a good point. Any leads on that book? I will start looking online for it. I will reach out to the member that brought up the book.

This is a pic from the cowling(oil cooler) of the same machine in question. It was painted yellow, but been oversprayed.
