The report states: "Schatzungsfehler bei Nachtlandung" (Umlaut over a) loosly translated: Misjudged during night landing.

Norbert

The report further mentions that aircraft was "schwer beschäd." (heavy damaged) but two uninjured due using seatbelts ("Anschnallgurte") if I translate it correctly. Report does not say W.Nr. or sub type of W 34 (i.e. Junkers W 34 hi or W 34 hau).

Re: Plane "W-34" crash reason ??

Nothing to add of course, but I wonder if Herrn E. Mail's parents were 50-60 years ahead of their time considering their family name and son's initial. Could he possibly have survived and wondered the same thing?

Cheers
Stig
