What aircraft would have the W. Nr. 4038?

I have a piece of aluminum that has a hand-written W. Nr. 4058.

I was told it was from a Bv138 or other float plane...but I cannot find any serial numbers in that range.

The full markings are:

St. B.7 Unten
W.Nr. 4058

Thoughts?

Re: What aircraft would have the W. Nr. 4038?

Various Luftwaffe a/c types could have the same W.Nr. 4058. Station B.7 Bottom/Under, perhaps?
(Your title says 4038, but your post references 4058.)

The WNr. 4058 might be seen on a number of different aircraft, including the two types mentioned by Revi16. A Ju 86, a Ju W 34, an Ar 96, a Bü 131, a Kl 35, a Do 17, a Bf 109E or a Bf 110. There may even be others.

Hi!

Sorry, it is 4058.

For sure this is not from a fighter or large bomber...looks like an outer fairing/covering for a lower support strut.

I can rule out: Ju86, W34, Do 17, Bf 109E and Bf 110 for sure. Probably Ar96 and Bu131 as well.
