Re: German wrack from (germ.:Karsbach) and germ. Hinzendorf) in present in Poland

Hi Kris,
The 9-13005C-7 is interesting. My VDM list shows the 13005C fitted only to DB605 engines. However, I have not found a -7 reference. The latest I have is in the Dec '44 partsliste for the DB605D, this shows 9-13005 C-4, C-5, C-5N, C-5Nu .
Is it possible the plate is misread? or is the -7 correct?
Best wishes, Chris

Kris, I looked again and found the photo's. I think you are definitely looking at a very late DB605, possibly no proper record of the C-7 part, unless someone has it?!
Best wishes, Chris

Here is new place for pilot - War Cmentary for German soldiers in Stare CZarnowo (Glinna) near Szczecin/Stettin:

http://pomorze1945.com/?co=200&lang=PL#tresc

Schwarze man - technical data plate show for 100% version C-7.
So which version of DB605 could be used with this gearbox ? DB 605 D , -AS , - ASM ???

Observe interesting post:

http://www.ww2aircraft.net/forum/eng...a-30055-2.html

"...Hi Achi,he is correct. The DB 605 ADB/ASC arrived in January 1945 but that is splitting hairs as he refers to the DB 605 DB/DC series of engines which did indeed arrive in late 1944. As I originally wrote. ..."'

or

"'...It is well documented the RLM wanted all fighters if possible, to use B4 fuel and it has been noted as simply more realistic too. The D series updates and requirement to run on B4 fuel were added to the 1945 AS motor series production so that some G-14/AS started to receive the ASB motor when they requested a periodic engine replacement. These are almost identical to the DB motor in all specification and build, with the blower as the only change and cruise ratings as the only effect of the difference. It's an update for this very result. In 1945 G-14 were occasionally equal spec to G-10 and K-4 standard.

this ASC(M) ASB(M), DBM, DCM nomenclature is nonesense. All D series production derivatives were designed to use MW50 kits on any fuel. It is not stamped or a designation, it's just DB and DC, the latter just recognition of a factory tune setting change between fuels. ...''

Dears,

It's been a long time since the pilot was taken from the fall site.
Now he is in the right place at the War Cemetery near Szczecin/Stettin.
After as I received the letter from Volksbund, I decided to visit his memorial obelisk and burial place.
