Non-Use Of The P-47 In Korea
I've always wondered why the P-47 - a ground straffer extraordinaire - was not used by the USAF in Korea. And the much less satisfactory P-51 was.
Both were available in the USAF armory, although admittedly the P-51 (still can't get used to the F-51 tag) in more available numbers. And then I came across this dissertation by Michael D. Rowland, Air Power History, Fall 2003 Issue. Well worth the read. https://sobchak.wordpress.com/2012/0...he-korean-war/
