Links to Germans using captured Allied Planes

All these are links to the Germans Air Force using Allied Planes they captured during the World War II.

One link will even give the numbers of B-17s captured and one tells of a Italian Colonel using a captured P-38 shot down one of our B-17s.

That KG 200 site you mentioned is not very reliable!

For example, III./KG 200 was not a torpedo trials unit and it did operate, in the ground attack role.

Contrary to what that site says, there is really not so much mystery about KG 200 and you can learn a lot more about their operations with the B-17 from the books of Geoffrey J. Thomas and Günther W. Gellermann.

Re: Links to Germans using captured Allied Planes

At the risk of sounding like a stuck recording, KG 200 is covered in some detail in Volume 2 of our book "Bomber Units of the Luftwaffe, a Reference Source". Larry deZeng had been all through the published material on the subject of KG 200 as well as dredging up much previously unknown material from archival sources. The book mentions what types of aircraft were used by the various parts of KG 200 but doesn't deal with the aircraft themselves, apart from some photos.

Our 8-9 pages of text is the most accurate description of this unit published so far.

I hope this helps.
