Missions Flown by the 456th BG?

Hi!

I am looking for if any has a list regarding Missions Flown by the 456th BG
with mission numbers, dates and targets?
I have look on the old site http://www.456thbombgroup.org but it has broken links / down.

Does any know where a mission list can be found? or know any source where it can be found?

Regards

Parts of the old website were captured by the Internet Archives.

There was a two page mission list and it looks like the first page (listing missions through number 191 February 7, 1945 was captured.

https://web.archive.org/web/20010303.../missions.html

On 26 April 1945 the Group flew its final combat mission (Number 249) to a motor transport depot in Tarvisio, Italy.

Thanks!

Fold3 does only cover 2 of the bomb bomb squadrons missions, 747th and 746th i think.
Still trying to find 744th and 745th missions.

The old site was very helpful RSwank.
Missions 192 to 248 is now the last part to try to solve, Where and when.

Re: Missions Flown by the 456th BG?

There is a book: 456th Bomb Group: 1943-Steed's Flying Colts-1945
that has all the missions, datums and targets.
I wonder if anyone might have that book to PM me the mission list if possible or maybe able to post the missions here?

All help is very grateful.

Re: Missions Flown by the 456th BG?

The last combat loss in the group occurred on April 25, 1945, at Linz, Austria. The following day, while General of the Army Henry H. Arnold, commanding general of the USAAF, was visiting the base, the 456th flew its last mission of the war against a transportation depot at Tarvisio, Italy, and scored a bombing accuracy of 100%,

In February, 1945, the 456th began flying two missions per day, termed Red and Blue.

So safe to say that
Mission 247 - 25 April - Linz, Austria.
Mission 248 - 26 April - target - Tarvisio transportation depot.
