Cdr Lester Seneca Wall USN
This pilot flew with VF-11 in 1943. Did he claim any aerial victories?
He led VBF-94 in its successful strike against the battleship-carrier ISE in 1945 and was KIFA post-war. regards Keith |

Re: Cdr Lester Seneca Wall USN
Wall was wounded by 20mm fragments on 12 June 1943. Don't think it was serious enough to warrant evacuation as he shows up in a photo of VF-11 pilots dated 17 June.
My father's log book has an end of tour complete listing of pilots by division and attrition during the squadron's sojourn at Guadalcanal and notes "Wall shot up, down OK". Each of the pilots who scored over the course of the VF-11 1943 tour has the number of credits above their name, Wall has a 1 over his name; can't explain or reconcile that to published accountings Regretfully, I've no on-line photo storage to which I can link (nor do I want one for that matter). At the bottom left of my screen it says I cannot post attachments. |
